THE JOURNEY OF THE PEACEDRUM
The journey of The PeaceDrum is measured not only in kilometres, but above all in encounters.
She travels from person to person, from community to community and from country to country. Every place that welcomes her adds a new story. A moment of silence, a shared heartbeat, a ceremony or an unexpected encounter can create a connection that continues to resonate long afterwards.
From a Dream to Her First Heartbeat
The PeaceDrum was built in Oostburg, the Netherlands, in May 2026. Born from Marga's dream and carried by the friendship and dedication of her four original Guardians, she gradually took shape.
On 13 June 2026, her first ceremonial heartbeat sounded during the Drum Circle for Peace in the Druïdebos of De Druïde in Stekene. There, she was consecrated and began her extraordinary journey.
Since then, the Drum has visited different places, gatherings and communities in Belgium and the Netherlands. Her journey continues to take her further, across national borders, towards people who wish to welcome her with peace and respect.
From Hand to Hand
The PeaceDrum travels without a permanent owner.
Sometimes, she is passed on personally when two Guardians meet. At other times, she travels safely packed inside her protective hard case to her next destination.
Anyone who welcomes her becomes a Guardian of the Drum for a certain period. That person or organisation cares for her during her stay, gives her a meaningful place during a gathering and then helps her continue her journey safely.
In this way, a living chain is formed between people who may not know one another, yet share the same hope: that peace can begin with a single encounter and one collective heartbeat.
Every Destination Writes a New Story
The PeaceDrum does not determine what a gathering should look like.
In one place, she may sound during a large drum circle. Elsewhere, she may be welcomed in silence, during a meditation, a nature gathering, a concert, a gathering in a care facility or an intimate ceremony.
Every encounter is different. Sometimes hundreds of people are present; at other times, only a few. The size of the moment is not important. What matters is the intention with which people come together.
Photos, stories and personal accounts from her journey are shared through our blog, Facebook page and The PeaceDrum Community. This allows people who cannot be physically present to follow her journey as well.

Her route is constantly evolving. New invitations arise, travel plans can change and sometimes the Drum unexpectedly chooses her own path. That is why her current location and next destination are updated regularly.

A Journey Without a Final Destination
The PeaceDrum is not traveling towards one final destination.
Her journey continues for as long as people are willing to welcome her, carry her message and pass her on once again. Every encounter creates a new link in a growing worldwide circle of peace, respect and human connection.
